Taylor trying to woo Ridge back?  JACKPOT! You, Taylor Hayes Marone, are the Pyramid $25,000 winner… and the biggest loser!

Sometimes the BnB is just sheer comedic gold, not that it intends to be.  Am I the only person who heard Taylor claim that she and Ridge had an ideal marriage? A love story like no other?  Isn’t that how Ridge describes his love for Brooke?  Even worse, isn’t the fact that Ridge remained married to her all those years, while still in love with Brooke, the very thing that sent Taylor to the bottle when Ridge dumped her sorry backside to chase after Brooke?

Was Taylor feeling ‘loved’ when Ridge left her and their children behind because his “psychic connection” to Brooke told him that she needed him?  Uh, she was in PARIS, FRANCE for pity’s sake.  Ridge didn’t realize that Taylor was hitting the sauce and they lived in the same town!  Did Ridge make her feel safe when he chose to work with Brooke rather than be with her -causing her to drink and end up setting herself on fire?  He didn’t make her feel safe when, after all of that, he told her that he REFUSED to stop working with Brooke, as she demanded, and left her crying and tearing her hair out.  Did she like the taste of Ridge’s boot as she was hanging on to his legs and he left her in a crying heap in the floor as he told her he was leaving her, and ran out of the bedroom to find Brooke?

Oh dear, Taylor has put her ‘kick me’ sign back on and is lining up for more.

What a pity that the writers decided to switch Taylor’s profession from oncologist to psychiatrist when she was first introduced.  Daytime mental health professionals are notoriously bad.  Taylor has them all beat. She has dregged the bottom of the psychiatrist-most-in-need-of-therapy barrel. She doesn’t like the competition and enjoys living at the bottom all on her lonesome.

Now?  Even her most important and  credible act of self-esteem has now been called into question.

Taylor seemed to be a woman unwilling to let Nick Marone push her around as he lusted for another woman, even after she carried the child they both so desperately wanted.  Now?  It’s clear that she let go so easily because she was never truly in love with Nick.  Ridge was the man she wanted, and like Rick, now, Nick has only been a placeholder.  Ridge must be some catch in her eyes, even if he’s not thinking of her.  She’s traded a husband, a child, and now the only man who’s ever loved only her- for the chance to be with Ridge, even if it means that Ridge will always be in love with Brooke.

What gives with BnB women?  What gives with daytime women, in any case?

  1. Hi ya Norrth!!!!!! Glad to have found you again!

I appreciate your blog about Taylor and Ridge. It was great to hear how you see the situation. Remembering how Ridge trashed Taylor for the trash and how many times that Trash pulled crap so that Ridge would never be free of her.

Yes.. it is true that Taylor turned to the bottle. Yes, she was devestated.. having being resurrected from the dead, only to find the same woman in her bed, breastfeeding her man and teaching her kids the life of a wild woman.

Taylor had much to fight as she chose to follow her heart. Then the ghost from the past materialized, pushed her presence and her body in places that not even those who will be paid for such services, in all decency would have ventured in.

Brooke was always there. Her main purpose was to follow the stars… that being the casanove playboy named Ridge Forrester, in his dreams, his office, his bed…

Brooke has always been a parasite, an infection of virulous origin where the name Forrester came to play. She saw the prosperity the first time she catered to them with her mother, in the luxurious Forrester home. Many a clipping from society mags filled her walls as she as a nothing in her own mind, dreamed of a future that would gloss over her sick existance.

Longing for a father, searching for a prince, being that which she so hurtfully envied her life long… a debutant, a person of substance… a Forrester.

Upon learning that her Mother was the former lover Eric’s, she chose to complete the circle which Stephanie broke. Hers was a love out of misguided ill-will.

She weasled her way into the heart of a very beguiled Ridge. One who could have any girl/woman which he chose, was therefore self-confident and self-serving. She mesmerized him with her free sex, she melted into his world and conned his friends and lovers into believing that she meant well.. but what did she mean?

Her goal was to become a Forrester at any price… the sad thing about it was, that she sold herself. Such an intelligent young woman, pimped her body in order to get and keep the recognition that she never owned.

When Stephanie saw through her manipulations, she called her and her mother on them. Brooke became scared and in her fear to loose all, she went fire and flame after Ridge.

Unfortunately, Ridge chose otherwise— Stephanie did all she could to support his choice, and at the end of the day, she vowed to become a Forrester no matter what.

She had to wait until each of Ridge’s wives died before throwing herself cheaply into a grieving man’s arms. Time and time again, she made herself available to him.. even when she out of vengeance, married his father. Bridget???

But.. this didn’t end there.. she realized that Ridge’s eyes wandered yet again. He was enthralled by this young doctor who was suddenly on his doorstep to deliver a letter from his dearly departed wife. This woman was georgeous, intelligent and came from an upstanding family. She was understanding and sympathetic.. but most of all, she was hard to get. Naturally this inspire Ridge to get this woman at all cost and at the end of the day, his infatuation became true deep love, which in like was reiterated through the devotion and nurturing of his soul through this very fresh and independant woman.

Brooke had no power over Ridge at this point… faked pregnancies only served her purpose for a short while. She pinned children on him only to have revealed that they were conceived with his father.. she is amongst the lowest type of human that I can fathom… still she prevailed. She met him anywhere, sometimes clothed and sometimes not.. she offered him meaningless sex. The only weapon that she had, because the class that her rival had form birth, she would never achieve. She connived, she lied, she cheated.

Her obsession with spiting Taylor became habit… almost as if breathing air and when she knew no better, she ran havoc.. became obsessed with taking any man to whom she had no claim, only to satisfy her need for the daddy she never had and the hero who would never die in her name.

Taylor has been kidnapped and held from her family. She comes back home and has been welcomed. She cheated on her husband once and I guess I would understand that he jolted her for that, had he not been guilty of the ten-fold… but as it may be.. he ran back to his comfortable bed-warmer..where he knew, no matter what.. if not real love, he would continue to live in the hype of obsession as only Brooke could generate.

Okay, she has gone through a lot. Taylor has fought and lost.. she has done it, been there and had no control over her situation.. she began to drink. Her escape from a utterly useless situation. She could have stayed with the prince, but longed for her prince. She could have left LA with her children, but where was her prince. The man who had promised to cherish the ground upon which she walked until they met each other in heaven.. the man who held her in his arms as her heart stopped, the man who dug up her grave.

Yes, she still loves him. Yes, she knows that he will hurt her again.. but for just the bliss of a chance to make the world that they shared, become real.. without any interruption and without fear.. she chances to dream, to be honest with herself and the world, that she still loves this person so much, that she will sacrifice all hope, so that he may follow his dreams. She will sell her soul to Brooke’s son, rather than allow Brooke to break her again… to allow Brooke to out-sex her as she always has done, as cheap as a dime-store lollipop.

I hope that Taylor will finally stop the Logan Show for even a day. I hope that she will come to her senses and realized that she is better than that tramp. I hope that she will see, that her giving up her birth-child was not a sign of defeat, that it was the greatest gester of love and I truly hope, that when Brooke takes Ridge away this time, that she would have grown and learned to be satisfied with that which she has, so that the rest of the B&B society can live in peace.

I do not place Taylor as a saint, but do respect her feelings, desires and reservation. Let her fall again, but let her fall knowing that she at least tried.

    Sorry so long.. but…that’s me!

  2. Selling her soul to Rick rather than let Brooke break her? Very interesting comment. Do you think that Taylor is feeling stronger, now, which is why she’s going after Ridge again? Is this more about Ridge or Brooke, for Taylor?

Outland, I will probably never agree with you about Taylor, but I find what you have to say FAR more intriguing than the show. You paint a more complex portrait of characters than the writers ever have.
